Full Description

The Hardy Cascapedia MKV continues the legacy of one of Hardy's most enduring classics, combining the unmistakable Cascapedia profile and signature Hardy click with modern performance and reliability. Hand-built in Alnwick, England, the MKV retains the character and craftsmanship that have made the Cascapedia a classic while adding a completely redesigned drag system and updated sizing for today's rods and fly lines.

At the heart of the MKV is an all-new sealed carbon disc drag system that provides smoother startup, increased drag power, and reliable protection for all-water use. The redesigned drag knob offers improved grip and more precise adjustment, giving anglers better control when fighting strong fish.

Each reel is machined from bar stock aluminum for enduring strength and then hand-built in Alnwick, continuing Hardy's long tradition of reel making in England. The result is a reel that looks and sounds like a Cascapedia should while delivering the performance today's anglers expect.

Choose the Right Size

The updated Cascapedia sizing is designed to provide better balance with modern fly rods and lines. The 4/5 is an excellent choice for small-water trout fishing, where the classic click-and-pawl character of the Cascapedia pairs beautifully with lighter rods. The 6/7 offers additional capacity for larger trout and more versatile freshwater applications, while the 8/9 and 10/11 sizes provide the capacity and balance needed for larger streamers, salmon, and other powerful freshwater applications.
